This car cake is based on a Porsche 911 Turbo made between 1975 and 1989 (also known as the 930). It was made with matching number plates and colours to the birthday boy's car.

The car was carved from a 12 inch square mud cake and ended up 18 inches long and 100% edible.

We tossed up adding a sound module for car sound effects but in the end decide the launch of Stacked Cake's audible cakes can wait for another day.  :)

Below are some photos of the construction of the cake.

This cake was really fun to make. The design requested was for a Kindle Cake.

For those who may not know a Kindle is a an Amazon E-Reader. I have one myself and it is brilliant. You can buy books cheaply anywhere in the world you might be. The books are much cheaper than to purchase a real book  and it is just so convenient (no Amazon have not paid for this endorsement).

Anyway back to the cake. So I decided that instead of having a plain cake under the Kindle it would look great it the cake was made to replicate a book.

The book is all hand painted and the Kindle utilities edible images.

I was really happy with how it came out, very realistic.

This week I had a very last minute order that I just had to take. It was for a huge Australian Flag Cake to be delivered to the Joint Opposition Party Room at Parliament House!

So a few late nights but I got it done (with some help from my partner Martin who is a whiz with the airbrush). The cake was huge, around 70cms long by 40cms wide.

Delivery to Parliament House was interesting. Security check points and some baffled security who were unsure on how to x-ray a huge cake.

Here are some photos of the finished cake and links coming soon for photos of the birthday boy cutting the cake along side some very recognisable faces.

This cake was created for a 2nd birthday celebration. The request was for fairies, toadstools and elves.

I wish I had taken step by step pictures to show you it coming together. All the little elements were surprisingly time consuming and I will admit there was a midnight cake crisis when my fairies crumpled and I had to start again. Then I discovered making fairies at midnight isn't the best idea either so the next day I had to start again...again.

But these disasters are always the best learning experiences (I can say that now as it is not midnight and I am no longer crying over fairies).

I really enjoyed the end result, hope you do too.

I recently had a cake order from some really lovely clients.

They new exactly what they wanted and even did up a computer depiction of exactly how the cake should look.

It is wonderful to work with clients with really clear ideas of the design they want bought to life.

It can be a little nerve racking making sure it lives up to their expectations. The cake turned out really well and from the clients reaction on delivery they loved it too.

I recently had a unique cake enquiry. A client wanted my shoe box cake design for a christening cake.

Usually reserved for young female shoe lovers I thought to myself...this is unusual. Then it all started to fall into place.

She didn't want the Jimmy Choo design, she wanted an Armani shoe. Her little girls name is Armani and they were holding a christening and wanted a unique, personalised design.

So we went with all pink...cause all girls must have pink and the end result was very fun, girly and tasty!!

Pink, Girly fun!

Edible footwear mmmm
